Job Description:

NSF is seeking to add a Manager Technical Operations SCFS to its growing team. As the Manager Technical Operations SCFS, you will oversee the technical operations of Certification Programs including work flow management of technical audit report reviews, system tasks and corrective action management, service delivery, continuous process improvement initiatives, and quality. The successful candidate will need knowledge of GGAP and Primus, at minimum.  As well as familiar with social auditing and animal welfare.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Select, train, develop, motivate and evaluate a competent workforce.
  • Serve as the highest technical authority in assigned program area. Oversee staff members in technical review of audit reports and corrective action review management.
  • Manage assignment of tasks and responsibilities to staff; Ensure level and balanced workflow through monitoring of data and reports and reallocating resources as necessary to meet production goals.
  • Assure that the operations meet all production goals for turnaround times, quality and output.
  • Supervise the department’s technical operations staff.
  • Review records, reports, and other documentation to substantiate and authorize Certification.
  • Work closely with Business Unit Manager and Technical Operations Director to support daily operations and to assure priority alignment between relational and transactional teams.
  • Work closely with Business Unit Manager and Technical Operations Director in the development and implementation of annual and strategic plans
  • Oversee the development, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in technical operations.
  • Support new business development initiatives through participation in proposal preparation and quoting, technical discussions with potential clients, and production of high quality deliverables.
  • Communicate with clients and relational staff on technical issues relating to compliance.
  • Assist the Technical Operations Director and Business Unit Manager in the development, implementation and revision of Certification policies.
  • Oversee the development of and updates to standard operating procedures for assigned area.
  • Participate in marketing activities regarding publication goals as developed in the business plan or as necessary.
  • Develop and implement strategies that ensure standard revisions and standards development activities support the objectives of the NSF Certification program.
  • Assist in business unit’s industry forum and participate or assign team participation as requested.
  • Represent NSF to clients, trade associations, and governmental agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or science-related field.
  • Must have prior GGAP and Primus knowledge
  • Significant experience as an NSF Technical Reviewer or with the NSF Process Certification Programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in people leadership and/or team work and collaboration.
  • Superior computer skills in Word, Excel, Oracle, etc.
  • Excellent supervisory skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree, e.g., Masters in the sciences.
  • Experience in conducting and/or evaluating performance and structural justifications.
  • Extensive knowledge of NSF policies and services.
  • Experience in Business Management. 


Salary Range: $96,000 - $127,000 a year.
